1 What is/are the primary reason(s) for you to make work in the first place?
Usually an idea that I want to tell everyone about and a need to document it.

2 What do you intend your work to convey to an audience?

Empathy

3 Why do you work in your chosen medium and format?
I work mainly with projections and the moving image. Popular film and culture surrounds and influences me in this medium and so it seems natural for me to make work this way.

4 Technically speaking how do you go about constructing your work, that is the image or object itself? What devices do you employ?
Its starts as a problem that I have to solve – then trial and error turns into a completely different set of problems. In the end, I’ve convinced myself what I have is what I was trying to achieve all along.

5 Which period(s)/artists/specific works of art are you influenced by and how directly? How does this manifest in your work?
What influences me most is music – Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan – the classic songwriters. And architecture – my biggest, recent influences have been Hearst Castle (and the Hollywood history and Californian landscape that surrounds it) and Red Rocks amphitheatre, Colorado.

6 What stimulates/informs your work from the world around you?
Disco’s, swimming pools, and places/spaces where you can daydream

7 What stimulates/informs your work from your own personal experience?
Memories, made up memories, friends and the constant feeling that the best times have passed, although I am always proved wrong.

8 From where do you derive your other visual source material (i.e. non art historical) and how do you implement this material within your work?
youtube - just for research purposes.

9 What are the main problems that you face in making your work?
Everything becomes a distraction

10 Where do you intend to take your work from here?
A cabin in the middle of nowhere, complete solitude, no distractions.
