ARTIST STATEMENT: |

Many times have I passed people in the street, or at times
observed someone sitting opposite me on the tube and have
questioned their identities. We are constantly surrounded by a
topology, -of objects, people, places, which in turn weave a web
of intrigue within the everyday. Spending most of my life in
cities, growing up in Tokyo and then moving to London, I have
been interested with such aspects of city life with its
encounters, storytelling, chance, and improvised conversations.
My work resonates around such themes, which are explored through
photography and performance projects in collaboration with
actors, artists and members of the public. |
